About the Creator
Doc Galahan is the pseudonym of Cincinnati-based multidisciplinary artist and writer A. Cagle, creator of the gothic gaslamp world of Queensgate. Since 2020, he has blended street art, gallery exhibitions, and narrative artefacts into immersive physical storytelling, pushing beyond traditional boundaries of print and installation.
His work includes light-responsive pieces such as holographic boxes and light-shifting prints known as Spectraglyphs, featured in exhibitions including The Veil Experience at the 2021 ArtLocal ArtShow and a large-scale outdoor installation at the Pike Street Art Wall in Covington, Kentucky.
In 2024, Doc Galahan collaborated with Second Sight Spirits to create Doc Galahan’s Scarlet Veil, a red absinthe featuring his artwork integrated into the bottle design. The Scarlet Veil appears prominently within the narrative world of Queensgate.
In 2025, he launched The Queensgate Papers: The Black Card Murders, a 13-issue illustrated newspaper series, on Kickstarter. The campaign was selected as a Project We Love, reached its funding goal in 72 hours, and concluded successfully with 161 backers. The series established Queensgate as a collectible, artefact-driven storytelling experience blending literature, design, and historical aesthetics.
Today, his work spans fine art prints, illustrated newspapers, and serialized correspondence, all rooted in the expanding mythology of Queensgate.
